How many times have you told your patients that pain is a message your body sends to let you know that something is wrong? Anxiety can be viewed as another message letting us know that our physical, emotional, and/or psychological coping resources are insufficient or diminishing quickly… It is a perfect feedback loop. If we will trust the messenger, and take action to “recalibrate,” we can intervene to preserve our sense of vitality, peace of mind, and personal fulfillment.
Anxiety is not something to get rid of, it is something to breathe through and gently explore. Then, make self-nurturing change.
